Youth Sports
THE GOAL OF OUR YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAMS...
...is to provide quality programming with responsible leaders so youth have the opportunity to grow and learn. We are not a training ground for future stars or college athletes; rather, we are a program in which opportunity for participation is provided to all who enter, regardless of skill or ability level. We wish to provide youth with a FUN learning experience and the opportunity to develop lifetime leisure skills.
YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAM POLICIES
All teams will be formed by the Hays Recreation Commission utilizing a computer software program designed to balance teams by age or grade and skill level.
A $5.00 per child late registration fee will be charged for all late registration. Late registration will be accepted after the deadline up until teams are full or games start. All late registrations will be put on a waiting list. Waiting list applicants will not be guaranteed placement. Late registration sign-up may not request to be placed on a specific team.
Youth will be contacted by their volunteer coach as to when/where practices will be held, as well as game schedules.
Team Sports Refund Policy: No refunds will be granted after teams are formed unless a participant becomes injured or moves away.
Requests for three coaches to coach a team together will not be allowed unless one of the coaches does not have a child participating in the program.
No requests for youth to be placed on the same team will be allowed unless both youths live outside of the Hays city limits and live within a reasonable distance from each other.
Out-of-district participants will be charged a $5.00 out-of-district fee per individual/per sport.

INSTRUCTIONAL BASKETBALL
This is the perfect introduction to the game of basketball - dribble, pass, shoot, and more! No practices just 50 minutes of fun. 2nd graders will play structured games to prepare them for Biddy Basketball next season!

EARLY START BASKETBALL CAMP
Get an early start to your basketball season! Come join us before the start of Biddy Basketball to freshen up your skills. This camp will reinforce strong fundamentals and drills to start the basketball season.

BIDDY BASKETBALL
Come and be a part of this exciting basketball league. The size of the balls, the height of the goals, and the distance of the free-throw lines are modified to fit each age division. These simple modifications permit the players to learn the fundamentals of the game and develop their ball-handling skills with regard to their age and physical abilities. Practices are conducted by volunteer coaches, at the time they choose, two times a week for one hour, and games are played on Saturdays.

SNAG (STARTING NEW AT GOLF)
SNAG, the Starting New At Golf program designed for pint-sized pros and newbies alike! Our kid-friendly equipment, from oversized clubs to snappy Velcro, will make golfing a ball for everyone.
Our certified instructors Kirby Garrison and Sophia Garrison will be your trusty guides on this golfing adventure. Get ready to tee it up SNAG style!

4 V 4 FUTSAL INDOOR SOCCER
The youth Futsal Indoor Soccer program is offered to boys and girls. This program gives kids the opportunity to work on their soccer skills in the off-season. NO prior playing experience is necessary. Kids are divided into teams by HRC in the younger age group. 9th-12th grade teams can sign up as a team. There are NO coaches, kids come to play and have a great time! Adult supervision and officials are provided.

We are excited to announce the K-18 Baseball Association is going to offer a softball league! The K-18 Softball League is a traveling softball program similar to the boys’ program. Participants will travel to surrounding communities to play, as well as host their own games. All participants will be responsible for providing their own glove and shoes.
