HRC offers a lineup of regularly-scheduled adult wellness activities, as well as seasonal and sporadic events. We strive to offer a well-rounded selection of fun, challenging activities that will be enjoyable, introduce you to new friends, and make it easier to stay healthy.
If you have any ideas for wellness programs you’d like to see HRC offer, or if you have talents you’d like to share in the form of an event, class, or ongoing activity, please give us a call. We’re always looking to improve our offerings, and we’re always in search of new instructors who can help us do that. We offer competitive pay for instructors. To inquire, call us at 785-623-2658.
ONGOING WELLNESS PROGRAM
CONSULTATION TUESDAYS
Come utilize our professional staff to help keep your goals in sight. On the 2nd Tuesday of every month, you can receive a FREE Fitness Assessment or Body Fat Analysis (by appointment only). This is a great way to keep track of your fitness progress. You must also be an active HRC Fitness Center member to be eligible for this. Call to schedule an appointment with our Fitness Staff at 623-2658.
BLOOD PRESSURE CHECK
Have you had your blood pressure checked lately? You can have your blood pressure checked monthly or weekly for FREE. A personal card will be kept on file at the HRC Fitness Center.
WEEKLY WEIGH-IN IT’S “FREE”
Staying motivated to lose those extra pounds can be very challenging. Let us help you by dropping in weekly to weigh in. A personal weigh-in card will be started for you, and each week you will chart your progress toward your goal. There is no charge!
SENIOR HOUR IN THE FITNESS
CENTER
Come exercise and feel at home with others your speed and your style. This is an hour-long period every weekday Monday through Friday from 9:00 - 10:00 am. This segment of the day is catered for our Senior and Adult participants who may feel out of place with the younger crowd. Come try our facility in a more welcoming environment.
HRC GYM DAILY WALKERS
Come use the HRC Gyms when it is too cold or wet to walk outdoors. Keep track of your mileage, and at 100 miles you will receive a t-shirt. Just fill out a log sheet at the front desk to get started. Times are available all day to walk, however, the best time to walk is between 5:00 am - 12:00 pm Monday - Friday. Check our web page or call the office to confirm the open gym time. Walking distances:
Walk all 3 gyms - 9 laps = 1 mile
Walk Gym #1 & #2 - 12 laps = 1 mile
TAI CHI - YOGA FUSION
Fusion is the blending of Tai Chi and Hatha yoga! This program gently guides you through a simple Tai Chi workout, emphasizing continuity, connection, and a feeling of FLOW. Perfect for beginners and seniors. Enjoy this tai chi practice.

BEER & DONUTS UNDERACHIEVER RACE
Do you hate running?? Then do we have the Race for you! 1/2 mile of Beer, Donuts and whatever it takes to finish, run, jog, or walk. Start with a drink of beer, stop at a station for a donut break, and finish with another beer at the finish line. Anyone can join the fun from never stepping on a race track to sprinting to the finish line this will be a morning of laughs. Families welcome under 21 will enjoy root beer as their drink.

CORPORATE WELLNESS CHALLENGE
ATTENTION Corporate Wellness Members: How about a fun competition among employees and other businesses in town? This is a fun and healthy way to keep you and your employees motivated throughout the holidays and winter months. There are three different monthly challenges and corporate winners each month will receive a free month’s membership.
You must be a participating Corporate Wellness and Health Incentive company to participate in this program. Not a member? Ask how to become a member. Just need a minimum of 5 participants within your company to receive a membership discount year-round and eligibility to participate in free programs like this one. Call for more details!

RUNNERS STRENGTH & MOBILITY
Are you looking to boost your running longevity? Join me for a 14-week course of mobility and strength class to keep you going through the winter months. This program will not only keep your joints healthy but also the ligaments and tendons surrounding them. If you want to stay running for life this is the mobility & strength program for you.

HRC NEW YEAR FIT FEST
Join the HRC fitness instructors Saturday morning to kick start the New Year! The instructors will have you up and moving with them so you can sample a little of their style of teaching. Wear your workout gear, and bring a lot of energy for the morning workout. While you are here tour our facility and meet the staff. Snacks will follow along with prizes, and half-price punch cards.

SATURDAY SWEAT
Ready to begin a New Year? 45 minutes each Saturday for seven (7) weeks is all it takes to get you on your way. ALL fitness levels are welcome as modifications can always be made. We use, body weight, strength, interval training, and FUN to help you start your New Year off right! Each week a small prize will be given away, and your name will be entered into the grand prize drawing at the end of the 7-weeks! Bring someone who has never been to an HRC Group Fitness class and get an extra entry!

BARRE WORKOUT
Join the HRC for an introduction to a Barre workout. Barre is a toning, body-weight workout. It engages muscles you wouldn't normally target—ones deep inside your body that squats, lunges, and sit-ups don't reach. With high-reps and low-impact movements, barre challenges anyone looking to fine-tune their muscles.

Walk 100 miles in a calendar year and earn a free commemorative t-shirt. Miles must be walked and recorded in the HRC gym. Walking can be completed during any open gym time, but between 5 am and 3 pm is ideal due to traffic in the gym. Nine laps around all three gyms is one mile; twelve laps around gyms 1 & 2 is a mile.
A club designed for running enthusiasts. The club meets weekly for group runs. Training programs available for runners training for 5k, 10k, half-marathon, and marathon races. Membership is $30 annually, and includes a running jersey and discounted entry to all HRC running and triathlon events.
