ADULT AIKIDO CLASSES
Aikido means 'the way of harmonizing energy' and is designed to improve a person's internal abilities and to take an assailant down without permanently harming them, so it is less effective than simply causing maximum damage. It is a good option for those who seek a pathway to personal growth, peace, and de-escalation, and it is not a good pathway for those wanting to fight with maximum efficiency (which typically involves causing maximum damage) or who want to enter combat sports competitions as this is not what it is built to do. This class joins our continuing adult classes and is appropriate for people of a variety of ages and physical abilities (all of our techniques can end with a stretch, simple fall, or more martial fall, depending on the person's abilities).
