Your satisfaction is important to us.  Due to program costs, including instructors, supplies, and to help maintain our minimum numbers, we ask for your cooperation when requesting a refund or credit.  Our policy is to provide a full refund or credit, your choice, to anyone who cancels by the deadline.  Anything after the deadline, will not receive a refund/credit unless your spot can be filled.

 

LITTLE SWIMMERS

Discover the fun of swimming with your child in our Little Swimmers guided water exploration program.  This class teaches a set of basic skills and rudimentary strokes through fun, games and guided learning.  The goal of this class is to increase your child’s comfort, confidence, and skill in the water.  One parent must participate IN THE WATER with their child.  

Entry Deadline: June 5

Entry Fee: $10.00

Held on: Saturday’s - June 15, 22, & 29

Time: 10:00 - 10:30am

Ages: 3 - 5 years w/an adult

Location: Hays Aquatic Park

 

TINY TOT SWIMMERS

Discover the fun of swimming with your child in our Tiny Tot Swimmers guided water exploration program.  This class teaches a set of basic skills and rudimentary strokes through fun, games and guided learning.  The goal of this class is to increase your child’s comfort, confidence, and skill in the water.  One parent must participate IN THE WATER with their child.  The classes will take place in the Zero Depth area of the Hays Aquatic Park.

Entry Deadline: June 5

Entry Fee: $10.00

Held on: Saturday’s - June 15, 22, & 29

Times: 11:00 – 11:30am

Ages: 1 - 2 years w/an adult

 

JUNIOR LIFEGUARD PROGRAM

If you are between 11 & 14 years old and have always wanted to be a lifeguard, now is the time to take the first step.  The Junior Lifeguard program is designed for youth to provide a foundation of aquatic & leadership knowledge, attitudes, and skills for future successful completion of lifeguard training courses.  By enrolling in this program you will experience what it takes to be a great lifeguard!

Classes will be held Monday – Thursday.  Each class is 45 minutes long.  Red Cross guidelines are followed.

Makeup dates: In case of bad weather, the classes can be made up on Friday’s of week one and two.  

Entry Deadline: July 3

Entry Fee: $30.00

Held on: Monday – Thursday - July 8 – 18

Time: 11:15am – 12:00pm

Ages: 11 – 14

Location: Hays Aquatic Park

Limitations: Min. 4   Max. 10 per class

 

HRC SWIM LESSON PROGRAM

Classes will be held Monday – Thursday.  Each class is 45 min. long.  

You need to choose a Session, Time, and Level!

You will not be contacted unless your requested time is not available, please mark these dates on your calendar.

Makeup dates: In case of bad weather, the classes can be made up on Friday’s of week one and two.  

Entry Deadline: Session 1: May 29

Session 2: June 12

Session 3: July 3

Entry Fee: $30.00, $2.50 discount for each additional child enrolled

Held on: All sessions are Monday – Thursday’s:

Session 1: June 3 – 13

Session 2: June 17 – June 27

Session 3: July 8 – July 18

Time: Time A:  9:15 – 10:00am

Time B:  10:15 – 11:00am

Ages: 5 & older as of the first day of class

Levels: Description and requirements are listed to help you enroll your child into the correct level

Session 1 & 3:  Levels 1 - 5

Session 2: Levels 1 - 6

Location: Hays Aquatic Park

Limitations: Min. 4   Max. 10 per class


SWIM LESSON PROGRAM LEVELS

Level I: Beginner Introduction to Water Skills

Skills: Front and back glide (with support), front and back float (with support), bobbing, blowing bubbles, entering and exiting the water independently, basic arm and leg movements.

 

Level II: Beginner Fundamental Aquatic Skills

Skills: Front and back glide (w/out support), front and back float (w/out support), fully submerging and holding breath, opening eyes under water, treading water, more in-depth arm and leg movements.

 

Level III: Intermediate Stroke Development

Skills: Front crawl, elementary backstroke, diving and jumping from the side of the pool, rotary breathing, treading water, self-rescue techniques.

 

Level IV: Intermediate Stroke Improvement 

Skills: Front crawl, elementary backstroke, back crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke, butterfly, open turns, surface dives, underwater swimming, survival swimming.

 

Level V: Advanced Stroke Refinement

Skills: Longer distance swimming and refinement of all swimming strokes, flip turns, shallow angle diving.

 

Level VI: Advanced Options

Objectives: Personal water safety, Fundamentals of diving, Lifeguard readiness, Fitness Swimmer.
